PETERSBURG — A citywide “Block by Block” clean-up will take place on Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m and going until 12 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to bring their friends and family to help remove trash, tame overgrown weeds and grass, and bag leaves at various neighborhoods around the city.

Civic and social groups, as well as businesses and churches can adapt a street or corridor in the city to be responsible for during the clean-up.

Each ward will have a different check-in point, where volunteers can get gloves and bags, and get assigned a different neighborhood.

A special cookout will be held at Cameron Field after the clean-up.
