Roy El­liott Myrick, 102, of Peters­burg, VA, passed away Mon­day, Novem­ber 5, 2018, at Dun­lop House As­sisted Liv­ing. Born a 12, 1916, in Peters­burg, VA, he was the son of the late Roy and Ber­tie King Myrick. A hum­ble per­son of few words, Roy was a mem­ber of St. Marks United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army dur­ing WWII in Italy. A proud mem­ber of the 10th Moun­tain In­fantry Di­vi­sion Ski Troops, he was awarded the Bronze Star for coura­geous ac­tion. Roy was a mem­ber of Colo­nial Heights VFW Post 2239 and the Wash­ing­ton DC Chap­ter of the 10th Moun­tain Di­vi­sion. He re­tired from Al­lied Chem­i­cal (Honey­well) in 1981 af­ter 35 years of ser­vice.

Roy is sur­vived by his wife of 78 years, El­iza C. Myrick; son, Robert Allen Myrick of Colo­nial Heights, VA; brother, Ed­win A. Myrick of Daleville, VA; cousins, LaVerne Snow­den of Ch­ester, VA, and Elaine Schools of Glen Allen, VA, and their fam­i­lies.

A fu­neral ser­vice will be con­ducted at 2:00 p.m. Fri­day, Novem­ber 9, 2018, at the Peters­burg Chapel of J.T. Mor­riss & Son Fu­neral Home fol­lowed by in­ter­ment at South­lawn Memo­rial Park. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends for one hour prior to the fu­neral ser­vice.
