Ky’mon Pope earns Region 4B honors on offense; Dinwiddie players make First Team All-Region
DINWIDDIE Dinwiddie Football senior quarterback Ky'mon Pope was named the Region 4B Offensive Player of the Year, Dinwiddie Football announced via social media on Sunday. Pope led a young and talented Generals team to the third round of the regional playoffs and a final record of 11-2.
Pope in 2018 had 164 carries for 1,223 rushing yards and a team-leading 23 touchdowns for 7.5 yards per carry and 94.1 yards per game. Pope also completed 108 of 199 passes for 1,745 yards and 15 touchdowns against eight interceptions with a long of 61 yards.
On defense, Pope led his Generals with five interceptions and scored one touchdown on a pick-six.
Pope was among several Dinwiddie Football players to make First Team All-Region on the Region 4B team, with
Pope being named to First Team for quarterback. Also earning honors from Dinwiddie were Jacob Edwards (offensive tackle and defensive lineman), Cedric Drumgoole
(tight end) and Trey Reese (wide receiver). Making Second Team All-Region from Dinwiddie were Robert Barlow (defensive back and kick returner), Tyre Dalton (running back), Cirdale Lucess (kick returner), Antonio Tucker (defensive end), Dylan Moore (linebacker) and Pope (defensive back).
Dinwiddie Football’s Ky’mon “Peety” Pope (#10) was named the Region 4B Offensive Player of the Year.
