Tuss­ing col­lects non­per­ish­able food items for the needy

COLO­NIAL HEIGHTS— Tuss­ing El­e­men­tary School’s Par­ent Teacher Or­ga­ni­za­tion and Stu­dent Coun­cil As­so­ci­a­tion are team­ing up to stop hunger in Colo­nial Heights.

Items that are be­ing col­lected in­clude Kraft mac­a­roni and cheese mi­crowav­able bowls, Lance’s ToastChee peanut but­ter or cheese crack­ers, Act II mi­crowav­able pop­corn, in­di­vid­u­ally-packed Cheez-It or Gold­fish crack­ers, in­di­vid­u­ally-packed raisins, in­di­vid­ual Jif To Go peanut but­ter pack­ets, Chef Bo­yardee pasta mi­crowav­able bowls, in­di­vid­ual ce­real boxes, Snack Pack pud­ding cups, Fiber One oats or Quak­ers chewy bars, fruit cups or ap­ple­sauce with a peel-back lid.

The goal of the food drive is to help fam­i­lies who are in need this hol­i­day sea­son. Stu­dents can bring items into school and turn them into their teach­ers up un­til Dec. 14. The class that col­lects the most items from the list will win a free lunch.
