RICHARD M. GOOD
Richard “Dick” Markwood Good, 93, of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away on December 5, 2018. He was the son of the late Lester Arnold Good and Louise Parks Good. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Carterette Good; his son, Richard Markwood “Mark” Good, Jr.; twin granddaughters, Ashley and Brittany Good; twin brother, Robert Good; and sisters, Virginia Titmus and Sarah Clark.
He is survived by his daughters, Ellen Kelly of Raleigh, NC, and Barbara Hearn (Steve) of Chesterfield. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Scott Launer of NC, Amy Grieco (Jeff) of Dinwiddie, Cary Mitchell (Roger) of Colonial Heights, Beth Sadler (T.J.) of Chesterfield and Richard Markwood Good, III “Trey” of NC. He is also survived by nine greatgrandchildren, Laura, Cade, Cole, Mckenna, Brennan, Tucker, Dylan, Hudson and Braxton; and several nieces and nephews, with a special thank you to Louise Mann for her dedication.
Mr. Good was a combat veteran of the US Army during World War II, serving in the European Theater and was awarded two Purple Hearts. After returning home, he was employed at Fort Lee, Va., until his retirement.
He was a founding member and Vestryman of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Colonial Heights, VA, a member of the Colonial Heights Rotary Club, the Battle of the Bulge Survivors Association and The American Legion.
Over the past three years, Mr. Good has resided at the Sitter Barfoot Veterans Care Center in Richmond, VA. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for the loving care he received there, especially by the dedicated nurses and staff of the Blue Ridge wing.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Mr. Good’s residence, 3700 Conduit Road, Colonial Heights, VA. A private burial will be held at a later date.
