Din­wid­die gets road win, 60-58, over Blue Devils

HOPEWELL – Din­wid­die Boys Bas­ket­ball (6-5) went into away ter­ri­tory and came back with a 60-58 upset vic­tory over de­fend­ing re­gional cham­pion Hopewell (9-3). The game opened to a firstquar­ter shootout af­ter which the Blue Devils held a nar­row two-point lead.

The Gen­er­als took com­mand of the game in the third quar­ter when they outscored Hopewell 25-13 af­ter fac­ing a four-point deficit at half­time. Din­wid­die with­stood Hopewell’s 16-point fourthquar­ter to hold out for the two-point win.

Jay­lyn Jor­dan put in a mon­ster per­for­mance for the Gen­er­als, lead­ing his team with 20 points and 12 re­bounds while Se­nior Cla­trey Reese put up 15 points and Bran­den Green-Pul­ley to­taled 7 as­sists.

Elvin Ed­monds IV had an­other dom­i­nant game on the other side of the court for Hopewell. Ed­monds hit 25 points and six three-point­ers.
