Ap­po­mat­tox River lec­ture set for to­day

PETERS­BURG — Peters­burg Pub­lic Li­brary will host Ben Uzel as he talks about the im­por­tance of the Ap­po­mat­tox River to the found­ing of Peters­burg. This pro­gram will take place on Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 11 at 6pm in the Multi Pur­pose room.

Uzel will also share about the river’s role in the Un­der­ground Rail­road and how Poc­a­hon­tas Is­land be­came an is­land.

This pro­gram is a part of var­i­ous pro­grams be­ing held at the li­brary dur­ing Black His­tory Month.
