Passed away Feb. 24, 2024, in Pueblo, Colo. She is survived by her three children, Linda (Tom) Tafoya, Carol (John) Brainard and Artie Ortiviz. Also survived by grandchild­ren, Tammy (Lonnie) Reynolds, Lisamarie Tafoya, Shaynee (Steve) Jesik, Kimberly (Paul) Long, Tricia (Bill) DeHaan and David Ortiviz; six great-grandchild­ren; sister, Ninfa Martinez; brother, Orlando Romero; sister-in-law, Laura Romero; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Flora was born on Aug. 15, 1926, to Emeliana and Max Romero in Walsenburg, Colo, where she was raised by her grandparen­ts, Enoveva and Ruben Romero. She was predecease­d by her parents, grandparen­ts; her husband, Arthur J. Ortiviz; granddaugh­ter, Tracy Lynn Tafoya; beloved aunt, Rose Ortega; stepmother, Esther Romero; sister, Loyola Mondragon; and brother, Juan Antonio Romero; and many other relatives. Flora loved spending time with her family, especially the annual fishing trip she and Art planned every year which she continued after his death. She also looked forward to trips to Las Vegas and Cripple Creek, holiday dinners, summer cookouts, playing cards (cheating to beat the grandkids) and making tortillas. Her devotion to her family was as strong as her faith in Christ. Attending Mass and religious celebratio­ns became part of her legacy for her children.
