Big Run Borough work crew debuting new truck

BIG RUN — Big Run Borough unveiled its new 2020 Ford F-350 pickup truck, which is now officially lettered and ready to hit the streets, on Wednesday afternoon.

George Bedell, Big Run Council president, said this was the first time they’ve ever had a brand new truck. He pointed out that it’s a pickup truck with a dump bed placed on the bed.

He said the dump bed can be taken out if you need to, and it’s electric, not hydraulic. Bedell added that there’s a spreader they can put in the dump bed if they need to do so.

He said that this was big improvemen­t over the 2007 Chevrolet 3500 dump truck. “At the time, when another council purchased (the truck), the 2007 was all they could afford,” Bedell explained.
