PSP-Punxsy

• Police were on patrol in Cherry Tree at 9:14 p.m. April 12 when they observed a vehicle committing a moving violation and then attempting to flee. The vehicle made several more moving violations during the pursuit before being forced to a stop on Route 219 in Burnside Township, Clearfield County. A 22-yearold Northern Cambria man was taken into custody for fleeing and eluding, DUI and possession of drugs and parapherna­lia.

• Police responded to the Walston Club in Young Township, Jefferson County, at 6:30 p.m. April 11. It was reported that Justin Joseph Juliette, 35, Punxsutawn­ey, shoved the victim and spat in her face. It was also reported that Mark Samuel Shaffer, 34, Timblin, grabbed another person by the neck and threw him to the floor.

• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 1:32 a.m. April 7 on Interstate 80 in Paint Township, Clarion County. Izea A. Hatzer, 24, Chicago, Illinois, related that his 2005 Toyota Tacoma suffered equipment failure in one of its tires and was stopped with its front right tire against the concrete barrier, partially blocking the left lane. Police said the condition of the car was consistent with Hatzer’s account.

• Police arrested a man for indecent exposure at 10:07 a.m. April 1 on Route 322 in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County, after he allegedly was observed touching himself intimately as children walked past. The investigat­ion is ongoing.

• Police investigat­ed a hitand-run crash at 10:40 a.m. April 5 on Carrier Street in Summervill­e. The vehicle and operator, Meagan R. Stephens, 30, Fairmount City, were located shortly thereafter. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The crash occurred in the Summervill­e Fire Station parking lot. The vehicle hit the building while parking. It then struck another vehicle twice while attempting to leave. Neither vehicle required towing, and no injuries were reported.

• Police responded to a hit-and-run at 6:38 a.m. April 9 on 28th Infantry Division Highway in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County. A 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Jackie L. Mays, 36, Brookville, was traveling west when it went off the berm and struck a ditch. Mays allegedly left the scene without notifying police of the crash. Bricen Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.

• Police arrested Bailey Winkelman, 22, Punxsutawn­ey, at 8:04 p.m. March 22 on Block Pounds Road in Canoe Township, Indiana County, after it was determined that she allegedly drove under the influence of a controlled substance.

• Police stopped Brian McCullough, 32, New Bethlehem at 6:11 p.m. March 20 on Route 28 in Rose Township, Jefferson County, for a summary traffic violation. It was determined that he allegedly was driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

• Police conducted a traffic stop at 8:11 p.m. April 16 on Brooks Road in Banks Township, Indiana County, after observing a summary violation. The driver, a 36-year-old Punxsutawn­ey man, was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Charges are pending.

• Police conducted a traffic stop at 8:33 p.m. April 14 on Main Street in Burnside for a moving violation. The driver, a 45-year-old Uniontown woman, allegedly showed signs of being impaired on a controlled substance and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

• Police encountere­d a vehicle at 10:19 p.m. April 3 on Marion Avenue in Punxsutawn­ey. The driver, Gary Altman, 64, Punxsutawn­ey, was determined to allegedly be under the influence of a controlled substance. Charges will be filed.

PSP-DuBois

• Police checked on a disabled motorist at 7:49 p.m. April 12 on Airport Road in Washington Township, Jefferson County. It was determined that the driver, Julie Dearth, Massillon, Ohio, allegedly was under the influence of a controlled substance. Dearth was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 6:38 a.m. April 12 on Route 28 in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County. A 2013 Dodge Journey, operated by Cheyanne E. Eshbaugh, 24, Brookville, was traveling north when a deer entered the roadway. Eshbaugh was unable to react in time and struck the deer. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene by McPherson Towing. No injuries were reported.

• Police responded to a report of a domestic incident at 9:41 p.m. April 11 on George Street in Falls Creek. It is alleged that Clifford Reed, 42, Ridgway, shoved the victim to the floor. He was cited for harassment.

• Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 3:54 p.m. April 9 on Rockton Mountain Highway in Union Township, Clearfield County. A 2012 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Michelle A. Wrigleswor­th, 27, DuBois, was overtaking a 2006 Chevrolet Impala, driven by John M. Cribbs, 60, Reynoldsvi­lle, when it attempted to steer back into the lane to avoid an oncoming vehicle. It struck Cribbs’ door, causing Wrigleswor­th to lose control. Her vehicle went into a wooded area and struck a tree. Cribbs’ vehicle traveled a short distance before being brought to a controlled rest. Wrigleswor­th and a two-yearold passenger were transporte­d to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of minor injuries. Cribbs was not injured. The Union Township Volunteer Fire Department, Dusan Amserv and McCandless Towing assisted at the scene.

• Police are investigat­ing a theft that occurred between 4 p.m. April 9 and 1 p.m. April 11 on North 4th Street in Reynoldsvi­lle. A blue wheelbarro­w containing cement and a gardening hoe was stolen from the victim’s back yard. The total value of the stolen property is $60.

• Police responded to a one-vehicle accident at 3:19 p.m. April 9 on Route 322 in Winslow Township, Jefferson County. A 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Dylan M. Kelly, 19, Reynoldsvi­lle, was traveling east when it went out of control, crossed into the opposite lane and struck a utility pole. The vehicle sustained disabling damage. Kelly sustained suspected minor injuries and was transporte­d to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment. Zimmerman Towing removed the vehicle from the scene. Route 322 was temporaril­y shut down to make repairs to the utility pole.

• Police responded to a reported domestic incident at 9:40 p.m. April 9 on Hoovertown Road in Huston Township, Clearfield County. A 40-year-old Penfield man and a 33-year-old Penfield woman were cited for harassment after a verbal argument allegedly turned physical.

• Police recovered a yield sign in Huston Township, Clearfield County, at 4:01 p.m. April 8. There were no identifyin­g marks on the sign. Any townships that have had a report of a stolen yield sign are asked to contact PSP-DuBois.

• Police responded to a suicide attempt at 9:30 p.m. April 7 on Bennetts Valley Highway in Huston Township, Clearfield County. It was determined the victim had ingested prescripti­on pills in an attempt to harm herself. She was transporte­d to Penn Highlands for treatment.

• Police responded to a report of a domestic incident at 12:38 a.m. April 6 on Broad Street in Snyder Township, Jefferson County. A Brockway woman allegedly was acting in a disorderly manner and was transporte­d to Penn Highlands for an evaluation.

• Police assisted Jefferson County Probation with a search of a residence on Grant Street in Reynoldsvi­lle at 1:41 p.m. April 6. Thomas Spitz, 44, Reynoldsvi­lle, allegedly was found in possession of Suboxone, marijuana and drug parapherna­lia. Charges were filed.

• Police responded to a four-vehicle crash at 11:11 a.m. April 6 on Kearney Road in Snyder Township, Jefferson County. A 2011 Toyota Avalon, driven by Pauline J. Orourke, 86, Brockway, was traveling north when a riding mower entered the roadway. Orourke struck the riding mower and continued off the roadway, striking two parked vehicles before going down a bank and coming to rest. Orourke was not injured and was cited for driving at an unsafe speed. The unidentifi­ed driver of the riding mower was transporte­d to Penn Highlands for treatment.

• Police are investigat­ing an incident involving criminal mischief that occurred at 1 a.m. April 3 on Route 28 in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County. A 59-year-old Brockway man is suspected.

• Police found drugs on Horizon Drive in Snyder Township, Jefferson County, at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 7. The investigat­ion continues.

• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 10:10 a.m. April 10 on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County. A 2016 Peterbilt, driven by Richard T. Cutler, 57, Smithmill, rolled onto its left side for unknown reasons and exited the south berm, striking a road sign. Exit 97 was closed for cleanup. Cutler was transporte­d to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of possible injuries. The Sandy Township Fire Department, Bricen Towing and PennDOT assisted.
