Robert M. “Rosey” Means, 81, of Valier, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born Feb. 17, 1940, in Punxsutawn­ey, a son of the late Caroline (Smith) and Forrest Means.

On June 17, 1961, he married Janice W. (Williams), who survives.

Bob was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and attended the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church.

He was a Punxsutawn­ey High School graduate and enjoyed farming and working. He was the owner and operator of R.M. Means Garage Doors for around 42 years.

Bob was a lifetime member of the John W. Jenks Lodge No. 534, lifetime member of the B.P.O.E Lodge of Punxsutawn­ey, a 50-year member of the Jaffa Shrine and a member of the Lindsey Fire Company of Punxsutawn­ey.

In addition to his wife, Janice, he is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Hollis of Punxsutawn­ey, Rhonda Swan and husband Doug of Richland, and Jenifer Kopnitsky and husband Scott of Valier; five grandchild­ren, Laybn Hollis and wife Kayla, Karah Hollis, Sydney and Gage

Kopnitsky and Evan Swan; two sisters, Carole Leonhardt and husband Ken and Ruth Ann Vanderhoof; a brother, Richard Means and wife Brenda; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James L. Hollis, and a sister, Jane Chandler.

A private funeral service will be held for the family, with Pastor Doug Wolfe officiatin­g.

Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawn­ey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Crosstown Food Pantry, 201 Woodland Avenue, Punxsutawn­ey, PA 15767.
