Loretta J. Bernardo, 89

Loretta J. Bernardo, 89, of Rossiter, passed away on Saturday May 7, 2022, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born Dec. 28, 1932, to Joseph and Lenora Jannis in Rossiter. In 1958, she married her beloved husband, Herman Bernardo.

Loretta enjoyed sitting on her porch, watching the wildlife and appreciating the beauty of nature, especially the flowers and trees. She was known for her immacu- late housekeeping. She loved spending time with her family, especially her young grandson, Grant. She liked traveling and shopping. She attended polka dances and traveled with the Punxsutawney Polka Club to numerous events with her sisters and her special friend, Angel.

She is survived by two sons, Randy H. Bernardo, Rossiter, and Timothy F. Bernardo and wife Angela; and grandson Grant, Butler. She is also survived by three sisters, Shirley Craft, Rossiter, Virginia Swisher, Virginia, Charmaine Bennett and husband Richard, Rossiter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Herman Bernardo, who passed away Jan. 8, 1993.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Rossiter.
