Chucks baseball gets big 8-2 win over Bradford Owls
BRADFORD — It was a good day for the Punxsutawney Chucks baseball team despite being on the road up north in Bradford.
The Chucks went on to beat the Owls 8-2 to move to 10-5 in the season, and on top of that, the outcome gave head coach Mike Dickey the win needed to make him the winningest coach in Chucks baseball history, with a 146-78 record.
By the end of the game, Bradford had outhit Punxsy 12-8, but the Chucks got in the needed runs in the first, third, sixth and seventh innings to secure the win.
On the mound, Josh Tyger worked all seven innings with eight strikeouts.
Jake Sikora and Carter Savage had two RBIs apiece for the Chucks, while Sikora and Tyger had two hits apiece.
