Audrey “Elaine” (Brooks) Zolner, 83, passed away May 11, 2022.

Elaine was born May 6, 1939, daughter of the late Rev. Ralph and Viona (Bushley) Brooks.

Elaine graduated from Punxsutawn­ey High School in 1957. Following high school, Elaine started her first job as a cashier at Tronzo’s Market in Punxsutawn­ey.

She married David Zolner on Dec. 24, 1958, in Big Run, and then moved to Erie, where they would start a family soon after. Elaine was a homemaker for many years, loving to care and spend time with her family.

Elaine was a master with needle and thread. She upholstere­d furniture, made costumes for the Erie Ballet, helped with repairs for Swaney’s Dry Cleaners and hemmed drapes for both Peek’n Peak Resort and her church. She even made Barbie doll clothes for her daughters. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and enjoyed babysittin­g the neighborho­od children. Elaine loved to cook for her family and tend to her vegetable and flower gardens.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, David; a sister, Marjorie Latta; and five brothers, Russell, Cecil, Edgar, Leslie and Eugene

Brooks.

Elaine will be greatly missed by her family, which include three daughters, Jan Peters (Richard), Jill Wellman (Jeffrey), and Jenifer DiSanti; six grandchild­ren, Ryan Wellman (Mikaela), Lauren, Zachary and Kyle Wellman, Joseph and Mia DiSanti; and one greatgrand­child, Abel Wellman.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church, 4703 W. Ridge Road, Erie, PA 16506, or to a charity of one’s choice.

Friends may call on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. E. Girard, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with a service to be held there the following day at 10 a.m., with Rev. William E. Hasting officiatin­g.
