Punxsy school board resumes daily bus passes
PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Area School Board voted to resume daily bus passes next school year at a recent meeting.
The daily bus passes will begin again with the 2022-2023 school year.
In other business, the board approved:
• The Pickleball Club’s request to paint and use the tennis courts behind the administration building (West End School).
• Proposal from Huckestein Mechanical for a planned maintenance program on the HVAC systems in all three buildings at a cost of $13,534.06.
• A proposal for the purchase of mobile convertible bench tables (cafeteria tables for PAES)
• Proposals for the following services for the fiscal year 2022-2023, ESSER funded: behavioral specialist, occupational therapist, speech therapist (two positions), social workers (two or three positions), Summer Tech Camp for teachers (Title IV funded).
• Cafeteria — CDW-G Surface laptops and HP EliteOne, $14,773.20.
• Hirings:
— School Psychologist — 2022-2023 Master Scale Step 14 — Kathleen Ammerman; Base Salary $62,704 Bachelor Step 1.
— School Nurse — 2022-2023 Bachelor Step I — Shannon Carpenter, Base Salary, $45,004.
— Summer Behind the Wheel Instructors: Jesse Hockenberry and Chad Long.
— Computer Technician — Base Salary $32,000, plus any applicable stipends provided by Act 93. Salary is for the 20222023 fiscal year and will be prorated for any days worked prior to July 1 — Timothy Jay.
— Cafeteria Worker — four hours a day at $9.35 per hour — Amy Wilson.
— Cleaner — eight hours per day at $10.25 per hour— Thomas Wojno.
— Cleaner — eight hours per day at $10.25 per hour — Diana McKillop.
— Track and Field Assistant Coach — Tina Scully.
— Football Assistant Coach — Alexander Neal
— Head Boys Soccer Coach — Christa August.
— 2022-2023 High School Yearbook Advisor — Danielle O’Leath.
— Maintenance Department at $8.50 an hour — Michaela Gett.
— Starting rate for cleaners — $10.25 per hour — Marshal Phillips, Lori Buterbaugh, Ivy Fisher, Jackie Temchulla, and Jason Miller.
