Robert T. (Pickle) Milligan, 79, of Punxsutawn­ey, died May 4, 2022, at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

Tom was born April 25, 1943, in Clairton, to Robert T. and Francis E. (Dilts) Milligan.

He spent his childhood in Valier, later moving to Punxsutawn­ey, where he married and raised his family. He was a Methodist by faith and an electricia­n by trade. Tom was a 50-year member of the I.B.E.W. Local Union No. 5 in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the 403rd Replacemen­t Co. Army Reserve in Punxsutawn­ey during the 1960s. He served as a volunteer fireman with the Elk Run Fire Department during the 1970s and was a member of the F.O. Eagles No. 1231 for many years, as well as the John Jenks Masonic Lodge.

He was interested in everything auto-related, owning a stock car and racing on local tracks, running a junkyard and later partnering a service garage, inspection station and a used car lot. His favorite sport and hobby were sprint car racing, following the World of Outlaws for many years from New York to Florida to Iowa. He loved his dogs and cared for many over his lifetime.

Mr. Milligan is survived by a son and daughter, Scott L. Milligan of Punxsutawn­ey and Brandy S. Milligan of Alden; a brother, James Milligan; and a sister, Terri Milligan Baun.

In accordance with Tom’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to the Deeley Funeral Home in Punxsutawn­ey.
