Amy Sue Courson, 62
Amy Sue Courson, 62, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born in Punxsutawney on Jan. 12, 1960, a daughter of the late William Harrison Yeager and Elsie Pearl (Himes) Yeager. She was the stepdaughter of the late Robert L. “Bud” Mangioni.
On Nov. 27, 1976, she married Ronald James “Pete” Courson. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage.
Amy worked as the office manager of Yeager Sanitation for many years.
She loved to play Bingo and never missed an opportunity to play. She also liked to play cards.
The most important thing that brought Amy joy was Jayde, Kryss, Kelsie, Derik, Malaki, Lorali and Harrie and other numerous nieces and nephews. She loved to spend time with all of them and was known for spoiling them with love and affection. She was generous to a fault when it came to her family; she gave big heartedly because it also brought her happiness. Amy was the babysitter of many children over the years, including the neighborhood children.
In addition to her nieces and nephews, she is survived by three brothers, Eugene Yeager and Cathy Shannon of Punxsutawney, Richard Yeager and wife Amy of Big Run, and Randy Yeager and wife Debbie of Punxsutawney, and one sister she dearly loved, Judy McManus.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, and a brotherin-law, Al McManus.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow at Ringgold United Methodist Cemetery.
