Mulberry Healthcare officially reopens
PUNXSUTAWNEY — The ribbon was cut on Tuesday at the new Mulberry Health and Rehabilitation Center in Punxsutawney.
Laura Deet, Mulberry administrator, said they worried about the weather, but the sun came out just in time and everything went very well at the ceremony held by the Punxsutawney Area Chamber of Commerce.
Deet said this is another chapter in the history of the health center, which began as Blose-McGregor Healthcare.
She said that Guardian
Healthcare owned it for many years, and now it is with Bonamour Health Group.
“We have our grand reopening today, and we’re excited to be working with the Bonamour Health Group,” Deet said.
Deet said that this was the perfect time to allow their residents to come out and enjoy the sunshine.
They had a food truck, “The Coop,” and 365 Hospice provided snowcones and hot dogs. There was music from D-Rod the DJ and cake from Stellabellas.
Deet thanked everyone who came out to support them on Tuesday and invited everyone to feel free to come out and check things out under the new ownership.
