Groundhog Festival to return Sunday

GASKILL TWP. — If you’ve always wanted to have a festival that would kick off the summer season, now you do as the Groundhog Festival has moved into the Memorial Day weekend slot with a week full of fun beginning on Sunday.

Cindy Saxon, festival coordinato­r, said usually for Memorial Day weekend, the services are all there is, so they felt this would be a great time to have the festival.

Saxon said they are starting on Sunday at Yoder’s Antique Mall.

Saxon said they will begin every day at 11 a.m. with games for kids and for adults as well, including axe throwing.

The festival is from May 28 through June 3 for the 56th annual celebratio­n at Yoder’s Antique Mall in Hudson on Route 36, with plenty of free parking.

Every morning the kids games will be open: Anti-Gravity, bank shot, football throw, Mario, Potty toss, putt putt golf, SpongeBob match and Strike Three.
