PSP-Punxsy
• Police are investigating a report of identity theft at 10 a.m. May 11 on Knox Dale Road in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County. The victim’s personal identifying information was used in an attempt to create a credit card account with Capital One Bank.
• Police received a report that an individual who was prohibited from purchasing firearms due to a prior conviction attempted to buy one at Walmart in Young Township at 6:49 p.m. Dec. 5, 2021. The investigation is ongoing.
• Police conducted a traffic stop at 10:46 p.m. May 18 on Route 119 in Bell Township, Jefferson County. The driver was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The investigation is ongoing.
• Police conducted a traffic stop at 2:36 p.m. May 22 on Route 310 in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County, due to the existence of an arrest warrant against the owner/ operator. While speaking with her, troopers observed signs of suspected drugrelated impairment and criminal activity. They said they later found her to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and related paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing.
• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 3 a.m. May 7 on Line Road in Burnside Township, Clearfield County. The driver allegedly was under the influence of alcohol. Charges are pending.
• Police are investigating a report of statutory rape/ sexual assault of a juvenile in Timblin.
• Police are investigating a report of identity theft at 8 a.m. May 17 on Bennett Road in Rose Township, Jefferson County. Unknown actor(s) identifying as a “Facebook Help Line” gained possession of the victim’s identifying information and banking information.
• Police conducted a traffic stop at 9:06 p.m. May 24 on Pleasant Alley in Punxsutawney. The driver was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs. Drugs and related paraphernalia reportedly were found on his person. Charges are pending.
• Police conducted a traffic stop at 9:47 a.m. May 24 on Route 219 in Horton Township, Elk County. The driver allegedly was DUI and in possession of a controlled substance and related paraphernalia. Charges are pending.
• Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 9:12 a.m. May 24 on Route 954 in West Mahoning Township, Indiana County. A 2018 Peterbilt crossed the double yellow lines to pass a horse-drawn buggy, then struck a 2008 Cadillac CTS as it attempted to get back into its lane. The driver of the second vehicle sustained suspected serious injuries and was flown to Allegheny
General Hospital. The driver of the first sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Indiana Hospital. Citations are pending investigation.
PSP-DuBois
• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 9:19 p.m. May 22 on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County. A 2017 Kia struck a deer. No injuries were reported.
• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 7:32 a.m. May 22 on Interstate 80 in Washington Township, Jefferson County. A 2022 Peterbilt 579 went out of control for unknown reasons and struck a guiderail and several trees. The driver was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois with suspected minor injuries.
• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 3 a.m. May 14 on Bancosky Road in Brady Township, Clearfield County. A 2019 Can-Am Defender DPS HD8 went off the roadway and struck a mailbox, then rolled over. A passenger was ejected and dragged underneath the ATV for a short distance, sustaining suspected serious injuries. The driver sustained suspected minor injuries. A passerby took the former to Penn Highlands DuBois, while the latter reportedly left the scene without seeking medical treatment or reporting the crash to authorities. The driver was cited.
