• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 5:22 a.m. Aug. 7 on Sylvis Road in Burnside Township, Clearfield County. A 2008 Hyundai Accent went off the road and struck a fence. The driver was cited for multiple violations.
• Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 10:19 p.m. Aug. 7 on Route 28 in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County. A 2006 International Harvester was backing into a space at Love’s Truck Stop when its trailing unit struck a 2023 Peterbilt’s front grill. No injuries were reported.
• Police were called to investigate a burglary at 1:29 p.m. Aug. 3 on Main Street in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County.
• Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 1:25 p.m. Aug. 4 on Shale Pit Road in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County. A 2003 Chevrolet Impala went out of control, hit an embankment and rolled once before coming to rest partially submerged in the Little Sandy Creek. The driver and both passengers went to the Punxsutawney Area Hospital for treatment of possible injuries. Police contacted them there. The driver was cited for speeding.
• Police are investigating a report of identity theft at 12:02 a.m. Aug. 3 on Overbeck Road in Rose Township, Jefferson County. Unknown suspect(s) stole personal information, opened an
AT&T wireless account and purchased an iPhone 13 Pro Max.
• Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief between 5 p.m. Aug. 2 and 10:30 a.m. Aug. 3 on Wishart Road in Union Township, Jefferson County. Unknown actor(s) attempted to remove a signpost with a stop sign and Wishart Road sign attached, causing damage, before fleeing in an unknown direction by unknown means.
