Robert E. “Bob” Barnett, 66, of Anita, died at his home following a short battle with nonalcohol­ic cirrhosis of the liver on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

Born in Young Township on Dec. 30, 1957, he was the son of the late Francis Ardell and Shirley Martin Barnett.

He was a graduate of Jeff Tech High School and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

On April 14, 1979, at Albion Methodist Church, he married the former Brenda “Bea” Leasure. They met at a 4-H meeting, married and would have soon celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Prior to his retirement in December 2020 he had been employed at NAC as shipping supervisor for 20 years, then as a second career at Neko’s Restaurant as a line cook for 20 years.

He was a past member and treasurer for NWTF and enjoyed horses, raising goats, chickens, alpacas and his dog, Chasy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Niki (Steve Huff) Barnett; his grandson and special buddy, Jackson Barnett; his brother, Howard Barnett; and his sister, Jan (Donnie) Bosak, as well as several nieces and nephews and their families.

Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents; a brother, Mike Barnett; and his sisters, Marcia Cochran and Debbie Bridge.

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summervill­e, has been entrusted with the final arrangemen­ts for Mr. Barnett.
