David Paul Buffington, 59

-

David Paul Buffington, 59, formerly of Brookville, died Sunday, March 17, 2024 as a result of an automobile accident in Pueblo, Colorado.

David was born June 14, 1964, in DuBois, a son of the late Milly (Carney) and Clifford Buffington.

He was a 1983 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School and also attended MSTI/Machine Shop Technologies Institute in Pittsburgh. David was a highly skilled welder, machinist and mechanical repairman. He was employed at Miller Welding of Brookville, FEMCO Machine Co. and, for a number of years, was owner/operator of Buff’s Welding and Repair. For the last several years, David had been a resident of the Colorado Springs/ Pueblo, Colorado, area.

David enjoyed hunting, playing guitar and going for what he called “joyrides” on the back roads while listening to music. He loved his dogs so much that his love of them was truly the textbook example of “man’s best friend.” He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back, even if it was the last thing he had. He was truly a kind and gentle soul.

David is survived by two children, Dylan Buffington and wife Natasha of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Sydney Buffington of Forest Hill, Maryland; a sister, Julie Clark and husband Terry; a brother, Richard and wife Sherry; and several nephews and a niece.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Buffington.

There will be no visitation. Private arrangements are under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home of Punxsutawney.
