Brookville School Board approves tax levy with Occupational Assessment Tax
BROOKVILLE — The proposed tax levy was approved by the Brookville Area School Board.
The tax levy was approved 6 to 3: Voting yes: Amanda Mignona, Zak Petak, Luc Doolittle, Roger Lays, Matt Park and Erin Schiafone.
Voting no: Christopher Rhodes, Robert Victor, Herb McConell,
The board voted 6 to 3 that the administration prepare the proposed 2024-25 general fund budget with a tentative tax levy that includes the occupational assessment tax at the same level as the prior school year.
In other business:
• Field house — The board voted 6-1 to approve the acceptance of the bids for the field house renovations. Robert Victor voted no.
— CBF Contracting, Sligo, general construction bid at $1,079,415; Summit Electrical Solutions, DuBois the electrical bid at $135,200; Fred L. Burns, Inc. of Clarion, the plumbing bid at $215,300; Hranec Corp, Uniontown, the HVAC bid at $220,000.
• Gifts, Donations and Grants — A grant of $250 was received thru RIU6 from Remake Learning Days NW PA for materials to be used for Remake Learning Days at both pine creek and Northside Elementary Schools.
• A donation of $200 was received from ClearfieldJefferson Drug & Alcohol Commission toward substitute teacher costs when a district employee attended two days of Student Assistance Program (SAP) Training.
• Membership in the PRFSD (Pittsburgh Regional Food Service Directors) for the purpose of participating in the food and supply bid with US Foods (Premier) for the 2024-2025 school year. Membership dues are $500.
• The Athletic Department has recommended that the old batting cage from the Auxiliary Gym be deemed of no value to the district and it be properly discarded.
• The Gifted/ Enrichment class submitted a request for an overnight trip for this year’s state academic
