Lady Chucks Jr. High Track/Field hosts St. Marys

PUNXSUTAWN­EY — The Punxsutawn­ey Lady Chucks Jr. High Track and Field team hosted St. Marys on Monday afternoon, with the home team winning 110-38.

“We had great weather for our first home meet,” said Lady Chucks Head Coach Krista Lowry. “All of the girls worked together to bring home another win.”

She added, “We had really good times on the track and marks in the field. We are also looking forward to traveling to Johnsonbur­g on Saturday to compete in their invitation­al.”

In the 100-meter dash, Quinn Homan (13.68) and Evelynn Neale (13.96) placed first and second respective­ly, while Harper Currens (31.57) took first in the 200-meter dash and was followed by Lindesy Hollenbaug­h. Also, Marin Martino (32.62) placed took third in the event, while taking first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:09.89.

Aerith Caracciolo (3:05.42) placed second in the 800-meter run, while Emalyn Conrad (6:44.79) took second in the 1,600meter run. Also, Homan (15:14.35) took second in the 3,200-meter run.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Neale (17.20) took first, while Chloe Bishop (21.57) placed fourth. In the 300-meter hurdles, Kilyn Haag (57.47) and Layla Garner (1:05.97) took first and third, respective­ly.

In all three relays, the 4x100 (59.28), 4x400 (4:53.31) and 4x800 (11;40.93), the Lady Chucks took first place, while both Bishop (2nd) and Hollenbaug­h (3rd) had jumps of 4-08 in the high jump.

In the pole vault, Teagan Kennedy (5-09), Ella Burke (5-06) and Layla Garner (5-00) placed first through third respective­ly. Also, Neale (14-08.50) took first in the long jump, while Hollenbaug­h (14-06) took second.

Bishop (28-07) took first in the triple jump, while Haag (24-04.50) and Abigail Pifer (24-01.50) followed in second and third respective­ly.

In the field, Stevie Doverspike (27-10) took first in the shot put, while Amyah Young (25-04) came in second. Young (57-02) took first in the discus, while Doverspike (44-04) came in third. Also, Young (87-07) and

Doverspike (65-07) took first and second, respective­ly, in the javelin, while Umbriella Test (44-07.50) and Jayden Spaid (43-04) took third and fourth respective­ly.
