MASTER OF CEREMONIES

-

Now in its sixteenth year, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering is pleased to welcome again Mr. Richard Charlesworth MVO from Cheshire, England as Master of Ceremonies for this year's event. Richard is no stranger to Quail Lodge & Golf Club and The Quail, having acted as Master of Ceremonies at The Quail for over a decade, and he has many years of experience working with fine and rare automobiles. Now retired and acting as an Automotive Consultant, he worked in Crewe, the home of Bentley Motors, for over 40 years.

In his long career at the esteemed British carmaker, Richard held a number of senior positions, finishing as Brand Ambassador. Over the years, he has fostered strong links between the company and its heritage and tradition, having overseen the acquisition and use of the company's collection of significant Bentleys representing its 99-year history.

As his time with Bentley drew to a close, Richard was able to take on a number of roles.

He was invited to join the board of Classic Motor Cars Ltd of Bridgnorth, England as a non-executive. The company is possibly best known in the USA as the first winner of the highly prestigious Restoration of the Year award at the Historic Motoring Awards in 2011 for its monumental 7,000 hour restoration of the Lindner-Nöcker Lightweight E-Type Jaguar. It won the award for the second time last year, for the restoration of the unique Pininfarina-bodied 1954 Jaguar XK120 SE. No other restoration company has achieved this recognition.

Founded 25 years ago, Classic Motor Cars Ltd. has been responsible for restoring some the most important Jaguars ever to leave Coventry, including the oldest E-Type in existence and the first works D-Type, being just two. Richard sees it as a world-class company and is delighted to be part of its future.

Richard Charlesworth's affinity with, and respect for classic cars means he is very well suited to guide us through the day's events at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. We are certain you will enjoy his rich, British accent, his appreciation for the cars on display and his warmth and camaraderie on the microphone. Please join us in welcoming again Richard Charlesworth to The Quail.
