Patrick J. Mulligan passed away January 13, 2014, at Albany Medical Center after a long struggle with cancer.

Patrick was born May 9, 1952, in Albany, N.Y., to the late Thomas E. ( Ed) Mulligan Jr. and Antoinette (Jean) D’Amelio Mulligan. He was the brother of the late Pamela Zampiello. He is survived by his brothers Ed, Paul, Peter ( Patricia) and Scott and several nieces and nephews.

He attended Bethlehem Central Schools, ColumbiaGr­eene Community College, and SUNY College of Forestry at Syracuse. He worked for many years in the constructi­on trade in the Capital District. As an avid outdoorsma­n and fly fisherman, he was intimately familiar with the trout streams of upstate NY and Vermont. He was a friend of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

We wish to thank the staff of Albany Medical Center for their services during his last days. We also thank his good friends Elven Miller, Jimmy Wright and Lisa Saunders for their care and concern during his final illness.

His many friends and relatives are invited to a memorial gathering on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Military Order of the Purple Heart, 761 Third Ave., Troy NY 12182.

Funeral arrangemen­ts will be private at the convenienc­e of his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Military Order of the Purple Heart at the above address.
