COHOES - John M. Valenty, Jr., 81, of Western Ave, Cohoes and Davenport, Fl and formerly of Andrew Ln in Cohoes passed away peacefully, Tuesday Decem-ber 1, 2015 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy embraced by his loving family. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late John and Ange-line. Criscone Valenty, Sr. and beloved husband of 60 wonderful years to Carol F. Van Arnum of Cohoes and Florida.

John lived most of his life in the Capital District and graduated from Heatly High School in Green Island. He was a proud Vet-eran of the United States Navy and John was em-ployed outas a pipefitter and a member of the UA Local 7 Plumbers and Steamfitte­rs of Albany for 55 years. John was a very active in volunteeri­ng for the Youth Soccer of Cohoes as a coach for many years. He joyed playing golf, soccer and basketball. A true doors man he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He welcomed the excitement of the Casino and playing cards. Among his many talents was his plentiful vegetable garden harvest. John appreciate­d his love of family and they were the center of his life. He was a member of the Watervliet Elks, Lodge 1500.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children, Anne and Pete Bariteau, Sr. of Cohoes, John and Caren Valenty, III, of Waterford and Robin and Jim Cotch of Clermont, Fl, adored grandchild­ren, Kim and Chris Drobny, Cara and Mike Greene, Jen Horwitz, nifer and Martin Nick and Melissa Cotch, Megan and Jeremy Jones, Pete and Jasmine Bariteau, Jr., Anita Valenty, John Valenty IV, and Charles Valenty lenty and his great grand children Brandyn, Kaelyn, Michael, Garrett, Abigail, and Gianna. Also survived by his brother Anthony Valenty of Califiorni­a, and several Nieces and Neph-ews. He was predecease­d by his brother Michael Valenty.

Funeral from the ald Funeral Home, Ltd 105 Vliet Blvd Cohoes Friday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 11:00 from the Church of Holy Trinity in Cohoes.

Interment is private and at the convenienc­e of the family.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30-10:30 prior to the Mass.
