SCHODACK>> A Troy man is in critical condition following a crash on I-90 Monday morning. State Police said Timothy J. Keyser, 32, was attempting to turn left onto Route 9 from the eastbound off ramp of I-90 when he was struck by another driver. Keyser was struck by Scott M. Dymond, 33, of Castleton who was driving southbound, police said.

Keyser needed to be extricated from his 2005 Hy- dundai by the Schodack Valley Fire Department and he was then airlifted to Albany Medical Center with pelvic injuries, fractures and a head laceration.

Dymond was transported to Albany Med for knee pain. The exact cause of the crash has yet to be determined but police said preliminary findings indicate that Keyser was making a left turn and failed to yield the right of way and traveled into the path of the Dodge Ram driven by Dymond.

Traffic on a section of In- terstate 90 was detoured for several hours Monday as the result of the crash on the Exit 12 off-ramp.

State police said traffic was rerouted off the eastbound lanes of I-90 at about 7:10 a.m. Motorists traveling east on I-90 were asked by state police and the state Department of Transportation to get off the highway at exit 11E and take Route 9 to re-enter I-90.

The detour was to allow emergency vehicles to respond and troopers to thoroughly investigate the crash.
