Columbia’s Hart named Suburban co-MVP

ROTTERDAM >> Columbia’s Samantha Hart was named Suburban Council co-MVP with Schenectad­y’s Lauren Piotrowski.

Hart’s teammate Heather Aiken was named a firstteam selection, while Rachel Steele and Alexandra Syrotynski were both named second-teamers for the Blue Devils. Jessica Finn was named to the third-team and Sarah Jesmain was an honorable mention.

Averill Park’s Marissa St. Pierre was an honorable mention. for the high-game.

Hoosic Valley finished fourth behind Joe Duncan’s 245 high- game. Stillwater finished 10th with 4,739 pins, led by Britaney Myers’ 634 series sist for the Brothers (9- 4 CDHSHL, 10-8 overall).

Kevin Canty and Cliff Vitkin both scored for the Mohawks (2-8 CDHSHL, 4-12-1 overall).

Nico Clareth led the Saints (9- 5 MAAC, 16- 9 overall) with 16 points. Troy native Javion Ogunyemi and Brett Bisping both finished with 16 points.

America East

UALBANY 75, VERMONT 71 >> Skyline, 15-7 overall) with 28 points.

Maritime (5-11 Skyline, 5-16 overall) was led by Patrick MacDonald’s 18 points. surpassing Jamar Wilson’s school-record for points in a career for the Great Danes’ men’s and women’s teams. Richards currently stands with 2,171 points entering tonight’s game against Binghamton.

Junior guard Imani Tate scored 19 points and now has more than 1,000 points in her career as a Great Dane. Sophomore center Tiana-Jo Carter led UAlbany with 18 points and 18 rebounds, both career-highs.

Vermont (2- 8 America East, 7-16 overall) was led by Andreana Thomas’ 12 points, while Lauren Handy netted 11.
