Locals lead Hudson Valley past Columbia-Greene

TROY >> Led by a pair of local athletes, the Hudson Valley men’s basketball team dropped Columbia- Greene, 85- 67, at home on Wednesday night.

Troy graduate Jordan Nelson netted the game- high 31 points, 23 of which he tallied in the second half. Kleon Davis, a Columbia grad, also had a big second half with 15 points, he recorded 19 overall.

The Vikings pushed their record to 19- 8 and the Twins fell to 6-20.

Northeast-10 Conference

ADELPHI 74, ST. ROSE 69 >> Tyler Sayre scored 33 points for the Golden Knights in Wednesday’s loss to Adelphi. MicalRyan Boyd scored 16 points and had seven rebounds. The loss dropped St. Rose to 8- 9 in conference play and 10-13 overall while Adelphi moved to 10- 7, 18- 7. Manny Suarez netted 24 points and Anthony Libroia contribute­d 18 in the victory.

North Eastern Athletic Conference

MORRISVILL­E STATE 64, COBLESKILL 54 >> Quincey Miller and Malik Chambers both tallied 16 points — the game high — on Wednesday but the Fighting Tigers didn’t have enough scoring to keep up with the Mustangs on Wednesday. Morrisvill­e improved to an impressive 11- 3 in the NEAC and 15-7 overall, the Fighting Tigers dropped to 3-10, 3-18. Ibrahima Toure led Mustang scorers with 14 points and teammates Qwuhail Barlow and Trent Ward finished with 12 points apiece.

Women’s Basketball Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference

IONA 64, SIENA 51 >> Joy Adams recorded her 77th career double- double with 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Gaels past the Saints on Wednesday. The Saints, who were led by 13 points from Meghan Donohue fell to 9- 6 in the MAAC, 12-13 overall and the Gaels went to 13-2, 17- 9.

Northeast-10 Conference

ADELPHI 72, ST. ROSE 62 >> Adelphi recorded 19 points off 21 St. Rose turnovers on Wednesday night to improve to 10-7 in the NE-10 and 17- 8 overall. St. Rose fell to 8- 9, 14-10. Karissa Birthwrigh­t scored 16 points for the Golden Knights and Staci Barrett scored 14. Cali Balfour paced Adelphi with 19 points and Ashley Gomez pitched in with 16 points.

North Eastern Athletic Conference

MORRISVILL­E STATE 60, COBLESKILL 47 >> Ashley Creighton and Shelby Preston combined for 30 points but the Fighting Tigers fell to the Mustangs on Wednesday. The Mustangs upped their record to 11- 4 in the NEAC and 15-7 overall while the Fighting Tigers dropped to 6- 8, 7-13. Creighton netted the team- high 16 poitns for Cobleskill and Preston finsihed with 14. Morrisvill­e’s Jordan Anderson led all scorers with 23 points.
