Robert Nazarian
COHOES - Robert ian, 92, of Pasinella Way and formerly of North Greenbush died Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Eddy Village Green.
Born in Watervliet, he was son of the late Dickran Nazarian and Vartanoush Mardigian Nazarian. He was raised in Watervliet and attended Watervliet schools. In 1952, Bob mar-Green together. ried Trudy Schlueter, his Number One girl. They had resided in North bush and made 64 years of wonderful memories
Bob worked at the Watervliet Arsenal from 1981. He graduated from the Apprentice School and became the Chief of Qual Assurance. ity
Bob was a courageous Army veteran of World War II. After being wounded 4 times he was awarded the Purple Heart. In his earlier years, Bob enjoyed working in his garden, bowling and softball. He then became an avid golfer and belonged to several leagues. Bob was known for his quick wit and playful sense of hubet known mor. He liked nothing ter than to joke around. He was affectionately as either Poppy or Buster to the grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought him great joy and pride. However, his gengrachil whom nickerosity was not limited to family members. He ciously gifted many dren and adults throughout the region with a Tootsie Pop. He never left home without a stash of pops because he loved sharing a simple joy with ever he met. This long time practice gave him the name of the ‘Lollipop Man’ and an article about him appeared in a local paper. Bob continues to be deeply loved and he will be greatly missed.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Diana (David) Lloyd, Wynantskill and Deborah (Steven) Sawyer, Troy, NH; his grand chi lUng rand AnnalNaz ar Mar Ar me 4-7 dren, Demecia and Alyssa Lloyd, Cassandra (Eugene) Leoniak, Brianna Lloyd, Kellen (Carolynn) Sawyer and Mallory (Henry) derwood; his great children, Zaven, Amaia and Sieyla Williams, iese and Westin Leoniak, Gretchen Sawyer and Milo and Ksenia Underwood. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Albert ian and two sisters, Mary Patoukian and Zevart digian.
Relatives and friends may call at the St. Peter nian Apostolic Church 100 Troy-Schenectady Road Watervliet on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from PM.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 AM at the CHURCH with Rev. Stepanos Doudoukjian, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in wood Hill Cemetery Troy.
