Robert William McCafferty

TROY – Robert William McCafferty, 95, peacefully joined his parents, wife and sister on May 15, 2016. Bob who was also known as “Papa” to his family, was born and educated in Troy. He drove for the Fifth AvMcher enue Bus Company, later known as CDTA, for many years. Bob was married to the late Bette Tusch Cafferty for 50 years until passing in 2000.

He was predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth McCafferty and sister and brother in law Eleanor and Frank Ryan. He will be greatly missed by his son Robert McCafferty (Debra Rogers) of Lansingburgh, daughter, Barbara Cole (Roger) of Clifton Park, grandchildren, Maureen (Thomas) McDonald of Claverack, Erin (Robert) Carter of Poestenkill, Cailin McCafferty, Sean ferty and Jody Rogers all of Troy., brother, Donald (Bettheir ty) McCafferty of Florida and niece, Carol (Robert) Thompson. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren and three great nieces and families.

Friends and family will gather at the Frank P. McAvenue Donald & Son Funeral Home 870 Second (124th & 125th Streets) in Lansingburgh on Thursday from 11 to 1 pm, with interin ment in Memory’s Garden Colonie.

The family would like to thank Hospice and the Springs in supporting Bob and his family during this difficult transition.
