Robert William McCafferty
TROY – Robert William McCafferty, 95, peacefully joined his parents, wife and sister on May 15, 2016. Bob who was also known as “Papa” to his family, was born and educated in Troy. He drove for the Fifth Av-enue Bus Company, later known as CDTA, for many years. Bob was married to the late Bette Tusch Mc-Cafferty for 50 years until passing in 2000.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth McCafferty and sister and brother in law Eleanor and Frank Ryan. He will be greatly missed by his son Robert McCafferty (Debra Rogers) of Lansingburgh, daughter, Barbara Cole (Roger) of Clifton Park, grandchildren, Maureen (Thomas) McDonald of Claverack, Erin (Robert) Carter of Poestenkill, Cailin McCafferty, Sean (Kelly) McCafferty and Jody Rog-ers all of Troy., brother, Donald (Betty) McCafferty of Florida and niece, Carol (Robert) Thompson. Also survived by 8 great grand-children and three great niece and their families.
Friends and family will gather at the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home 870 Second Avenue (124th & 125th Streets) in Lansingburgh on Thursday from 11 to 1 pm, with inter-ment in Memory’s Garden in Colonie.
The family would like to thank Hospice and the Springs in supporting Bob and his family during this difficult transition.
