Seminar to offer cybersecurity advice
COLONIE, N.Y. >> To help educate people on how to protect their business from an attack or breach, the Better Business Bureau of Upstate New York, AT&T, the FBI and Anchor Agency, in partnership with several Capital Region chambers of commerce, will host a free cybersecurity seminar from 8 to 9:45 a.m. at the Albany Marriott, 189 Wolf Road.
The seminar will feature experts on topics including cybertheft and spying, securing mobile devices, cybersecurity insurance and cyberespionage. State Sen. George Amedore, R-Rotterdam, and Assemblyman John McDonald III, D-Cohoes, will deliver remarks on the importance of cybersecurity from both their governmental and business backgrounds.
Designed as an educational and networking event, the seminar will provide professionals the opportunity to learn about protecting companies from crippling disruption caused not only by cyberattacks, but also from unexpected disruptions caused by natural disasters and prolonged power outages. Additionally, participants will learn about powerful tools to protect sensitive data while working within compliance boundaries.
The seminar is being presented in partnership with the Colonie, Bethlehem, Southern Saratoga, Guilderland and Rensselaer County chambers.
