Keilen FREDERICK, MD - Nicholas James “Nick” Keilen,Keilen age 73, passed away at his home in Frederick, MD on March 21, 2017. Born February 19, 1944 in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late James Edward and Elizabeth Pitts Keilen.

Nick graduated from Shaker High School in Latham, NY and proudly served his country in the US.U.S. Army from 1962-19621965. He worked ten years for Western Union at East Coast Relay Center and 25 years for General Electric Informatio­n Services in Rockville, MD.

He spent his spare time restoring his prize 1957 Ford Skyliner.ky He enjoyed sharing its uniqueness while participat­ing in the Internatio­nal Ford Retractabl­e Club and the Francis Scott Key Car Club events. Documentin­g the special moments of his beloved family through photograph­y was a lifelong passion. He took great pride in caring for his yard and home.

Nick was the devoted husband of Ellen Rowe Keilen for 51 years and the proud father of his two children, Niccole Keilen and husband Tristan Warwick, and Neil Keilen and friend Renetta Morelli. He was the grandfathe­r of Tif-ffany Keilen and Anthony Monto, Sherry Keilen, Nathaniel Warwick and Gabrielle Warwick and great grandfathe­r of Zoerina and Anthony Joseph Monto Jr. In addition, Nick is survived by his sisters, Helena Keilen and Sarah Mahar; his brother, Edward Keilen and wife Janet; several nieces, nephews, grandniece­s and grandnephe­ws.

Nick is remembered fondly by his wife’s family: Louise Rowe, Virginia Van Horn, Ronald and Myke Henning, Gary and Denise Coonradt, Charlene Whitson, Bruce and Trudy Bergstrom and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by friends, Robert and Mary Jo Renn and Elizabeth Brown.

A celebratio­n of Nick’s life will be held for family and friends at a future date.
