The military-industrial complex and the warmongers in our government took a blow when the South Koreans elected a liberal peace man who wants to get along with North Korea. So all those bombs they’ve been expecting to drop on North Korea may not be useful these days. Hopefully not, anyway.

To everyone making fun of Senator Schumer’s eyeglasses, do you have any idea of how ridiculous you sound? As a singer, I use half-readers to check my music without having the conductor go blurry. It’s probably very similar for him to need to check his notes and make eye contact with his audience. You don’t have his eyes and you can’t know anything about it, so M.Y.O.B. and shut up, already.

Today there aren’t too many people out there I’d actually call a mother. They don’t take care of their kids, they don’t feed them or keep them clean like they should. When they sit at the kitchen table or the restaurant to eat the mother is texting, not even paying attention to their kids. How many talk to their kids every single day like a mother should? No, they have to be out working or having their good old times…. There are no real mothers today except the older women who take care of their grandchildren.

As things begin to go really bad for the Trump administration, Trump, who may have been lying his whole life, will begin to try to destroy our democracy. If we don’t keep an eye on the Republicans they’ll go along with him. Ryan has already said that this is the first time in a generation that the Republican agenda can be rammed through. Let’s keep an eye on the Russian investigation and be careful of Trump’s sham investigation of voter fraud and suppression.

Living in the town of Schaghticoke, we pay more taxes to the Lansingburgh school district than Lansingburgh, Brunswick and Pittstown. I myself am appalled by this because after living here 30years as a widower I never had any children in the school district. Even though I do get a moderate sum for school tax reduction, there should be a clause in there for people with no school children and over 65years old to get a bigger reduction.

I am a senior citizen well up there in age. I amtired of the government using low gasoline prices to stop senior from getting the raises they well deserve. Our government officials, state, local, county and federal, should stop bickering and wasting taxpayers’ money, and work together in the common cause of the people.

I think the powers that be in Washington should keep a very sharp eye on the D.T. He’s already got one foot off the rails and he’s also the number one fan of the NRA. So his next step instead of firing somebody could be just to shoot him.

The downtown Troy arts district, which is Fulton Street, Third Street and River Street, is trying to set up a free wifi program, and tearing down the telephone poles was really a bad mistake by the city council. I’m very disappointed in what they did.

I have no sympathy at all for anybody who’s on drugs, overdoses or dies from drugs. They made the choice of using them in the first place. They probably started with marijuana and went on and on until they died on drugs. I have absolutely no sympathy for them or their families, because the families could have done something when they knew they were using.

Do you get the feeling that Donald Trump has something he’s afraid the Russians are going to reveal, that will cause him embarrassment or possibly impeachment? Is that why he won’t condemn them? That’s what it seems to me.

In answer to Mayor McNulty of Green Island clearing out their walkways and sidewalk entrances, we all do that about 3-4times each snowfall because the DPW going up and down the road pushes the snow back on our walkways and driveways and where we clear out for trash pickup, and if we don’t have that area open then they won’t pick up our trash. So that’s what we do when we have snow pushed. It ends up back where we started from.
