Casino to ring in summer with free outdoor concert
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. >> Saratoga Casino Hotel is kicking off the summer with a free outdoor concert this weekend.
As part of its Outdoor Music Festival and Dream Car Giveaway, Saratoga Casino Hotel will host a free outdoor concert from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday on polo fields at the casino, located on Crescent Avenue in Saratoga Springs.
The festival’s headlining act is Blood, Sweat & Tears featuring Bo Bice. More than 50 years since founding member Bobby Colomby envisioned Blood Sweat & Tears as a fusion of jazz, rock and blues, the band is still going strong with American Idol finalist Bo Bice now at the helm on vocals.
Additionally, Skeeter Creek and Grand Central Station are both set to warm up the crowd throughout Saturday afternoon. These two local bands are known to regularly pack in crowds year round at the casino’s Vapor night club.
A variety of local food trucks will be on hand including Swamp Dawgs, O’Pablo’s, Given to Fry, Times Square Catering and Cooley’s Ice Cream.
Drink specials will also be available throughout the day.
Parking and admission into the event is free.
The casino will also be holding drawings for its ‘ Dream Car Giveaway’ on the same day. A total of 50 Free Play winners will be selected throughout the day, leading up to one winner at 11 p.m. who will receive a $32,000 credit towards any car of their choice from the DePaula Auto Group.
New members who sign up on May 20 to join the Saratoga Club will automatically receive 10 free entries into the Dream Car Giveaway following account activation.
Casino employees will be on hand at the festival to facilitate sign-ups throughout the day.
“We anticipate this event will cater to a wide variety of interests,” said Tom Wiedmayer, general manager at Saratoga Casino Hotel, in a press release. “We look forward to welcoming new and familiar guests to our property to enjoy a full day of fun.”

The Outdoor Music Festival is open to all ages. However, like always, the casino floor is for guests 18 years of age or older.
Saratoga Casino Hotel features more than 1,700 slots, electronic table games, live harness racing, two full-service restaurants with buffets, a casual dining restaurant, three fullservice bars, a deli and a variety of guest services including valet parking and coat check.
The new 117-room luxury hotel featuring Morton’s The Steakhouse is now open as well.
