FESTIVAL CELEBRATION CHOIR: The Festival Cel- ebration Choir, an ecumenical choral ensemble in the Capitol District, will present its spring concert, “Many Gifts, One Spirit,” June 4, at 4p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 181 Western Avenue, Albany. The concert features the regional premiere of John Rutter’s ‘The Gift of Life’, a six-movement choral celebration of the living earth and its creation. Tickets are $18. GREENBUSH HISTORICAL SOCIETY: The Greenbush Historical Society welcomes Bobbie Reno, East Greenbush Town Historian, who will be discussing Edmonia Lewis at the Sunday, June 4meeting. Edmonia was born in 1844 to a Chippewa mother and an African American father. She lived in East Greenbush and was raised by the Chippewa when she was orphaned at the age of five. Race and gender presented many obstacles, but Edmonia overcame them to become the first professional African American sculptor. She spent much of her professional career in Rome, Italy and was internationally renowned. The meeting starts at 2p.m. at the East Greenbush Library.
