UAlbany mid drafted by MLL
ALBANY, N.Y. » UAlbany senior midfielder Adam Osika will continue his lacrosse career in the professional ranks after being drafted by the Atlanta Blaze in the third round into Major League Lacrosse.
“I’m really excited to be a part of the Atlanta Blaze organization and the opportunity ahead,” said Osika, the 21st overall pick. “It’s always been a dream to play in the MLL and to be able to play on such a great team makes it that much better.”
With Osika’s selection, UAlbany has had at least one player drafted into the MLL 10 of the last 11 years. In 2016, John Maloney was selected by the Chesapeake Bayhawkand and Blaze Riorden was drafted by the Rochester Rattlers.

The team of Chris Nachtrieb and Gary Grimaldi tied Justin Vonk and Nick Marini at 137 for second while last year’s winners Joe Marro and Greg Hayes shot 142 gross score.
Ryan and Spencer Hanks had the second lowest net with 129, followed by Brian and Jason Snyder (130) and Shawn Francis and Scott Knapp (131).
AIRWAY MEADOWS FRIDAY NIGHT SCRAMBLE >> The foursome of Kyle Schultz, Tweezer Scheidt, Jim Fish and Dan Stewart came it a 6-under to win the Friday night scramble at Airway Meadows.
Kevin Nielsen, Jayme Heber, Matt Seymour and Mike Winters took second a 5-under. Nielson was closest to the pin on No. 3 and Schultz was closest on No. 9.
