TROYOY - Mrs. MaryMar S. Ormsby, 103, died Sunday August 27th, 2017 peace - fully surrounded by family and friends. She was born December 13th, 1913 in Poultney, VT. Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stephania ( Estonia) Skovira.

Mary graduated from Austin Beauty School in Alher bany, NY, where she earned her degree in cosmetolog­y to pursue her passionate career as a hairdresse­r. Her career lead her to Troy, NY where she met her husband Dave and establishe­d her own business, Broadway Beauty Salon. Mary retired at the age of 95. Mary was a life long resident of Troy where she was dedicated to her clientele and a popular downtown resident. Mary had a great fashion sense and was a woman of style and aplomb. She never left her home without being dressed to the nines and was always met with genu - ine warmth and kindness. Mary had a love for read - ing and especially enjoyed The Wall Street Journal.

Mary was woman of strong faith and was a life most time communican­t and supporter of St. Anthony of Padua in Troy, NY where she attended mass daily for of her life.

Mary is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Marsette, of Corona, CA and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews

She was predecease­d by her husband David T. Ormsby who died in 1988; by two brothers and six sis - ters.

The Hart Family, Kiki, Bob, Katy & Kyle, were blessed to have the oppor - tunity to care for Mary for the final years of her life. Mary was surrounded by the love of children and dogs as well as Kiki’s fam - ily.

Aspecial thanks to Barbara and Lorraine for providing kind and compas with sionate respite care, along with the Eddy. Also to Ed O’Haire and The O’Haire Family for the special friendship they enjoyed Mary over the years.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10: 30 am in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will follow in St. Jo - seph’s Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday morning from 9 – 10 am in the John H. Clinton Funeral Home, Inc. 336 3rd St. Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributi­ons can be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 28 State St. Troy, NY 12180. September 1from 5p. m. - 7p. m. at their 2nd Floor Gallery in Glens Falls’ City Hall on 42Ridge Street. The September artist of the month is plein air artist Frederick Holman. The exhibition will open on August 28and close on September 29. The gallery is open weekdays from 9a. m. to 4 p. m.
