Jamesam C. Matz zen
BRUNSWICK - James C. Matzen, 23, passed suddenly Sunday, August 27, 2017.
Words alone will never capture the essence of all of who James was and is to us. Those who knew him could feel the love he gave freely and endlessly. He was selfless, a giver, al - ways placing the needs of his loved ones first. When he wasn’t spending time with family and friends, he was putting everything into his work. He loved the long, exhausting days that he spent working with concrete. He was an artist at heart and concrete was one of his art forms. James had no fear, always up for any high speed thrill such as dirt biking, snowboard - ing, four wheeling and bike riding. He read about spiri - tuality and found solace in nature. James accepted every friend, relative, and acquaintance without judgement or condition. We will miss his goofiness, his smile, his humor humor, his laughter, his charisma, and the immense light he add - ed to our lives. We hope he is at peace with his mom; where the wild things are.
James was pre- deceased by his mother, Edith M. Johnson, who he shared an immense bond with. He is loved and remembered by his father Stephen C. Matzen, his step- father Michael Johnson, his sibAmanda lings, Michael C. Matzen, M. ( Chad) Kerna - han, and Shane S. ( Ericka) Matzen; his nieces and nephews, Kayla Johnson, Riley Matzen, Abaigeal and Declan Kernahan, and Ca - leb and William Matzen; his grandparents, Peter N. Matzen, Dennis and Ann Cavanaugh; his large extendedxtended family and the many friends’ lives he has touched.
Funeral service will be private at the request of the family.
Interment will be in Park View Cemetery Schenecta - dy.
