FOOD & FARM FESTIVAL: The Glens Falls Food Co-Op and the Glens Falls Collaborat­ive’s fourth annual Food & Farm Festival will be held in Glens Falls City Park on Sunday, October 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A variety of booths will feature farm and food vendors as well as artisans

and non-profits. Festival organizers are planning free children’s activities, including face painting, pony rides, crafts, and games. SACRED HARP SINGING:

Sacred harp singing uses the shape-note notation system, where the round notes of the scale are replaced by squares, ovals, rectangles, and diamonds to represent the degrees of the scale. Singers “sing the shapes” before singing the lyrics. The 2017 New York State Sacred Harp Singing Convention will be held in Easton at Burton Hall (1017 NY – 40, Greenwich) on Saturday October 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, October 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is invited to listen or sing; no experience is necessary.
