Suburban Council grads make Syracuse Cheer squad

Three graduates of rival Suburban Council schools have traded in their blue and green high school colors for the distinct orange of Syracuse University.

Saratoga Springs class of 2017 grad Madison Dallas, Shenendeho­wa class of 2017 grad Brenna Hart and Shaker class of 2016 grad Caitlyn Harley are all members of the Syracuse University Coed Cheer Team. The trio cheer for the Orange during football and men’s basketball seasons after successful tryouts for the team held in May 2017. This is Harley’s second season on the squad and the first for Dallas and Hart. All three girls cheered for their respective high school during their time in the Capital District while Dallas and Hart also cheered for the private cheer gym Cheer Intensity out of Green Island.

In addition to cheer responsibi­lities during Syracuse football and men’s basketball seasons, the Cheer Team also gets the opportunit­y to appear at special events. Hart and Harley were recently chosen to be members of the 16 person squad that will represent Syracuse University at the UCA College Cheerleadi­ng and Dance Team National Championsh­ips held in Orlando, Florida on Jan. 1214, 2018.
