Police: Troy couple sold crack, heroin in region
ALBANY, N.Y. » A Troy couple who were selling crack cocaine and heroin throughout the Capital region are facing charges, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office said.
Alexander T. Wilson, 25, was charged with third- degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a f elony; f our t h- degree crimi nal possession of a control l ed substance, a felony; seventh-degree crimi nal possession of a control l ed substance, a misdemeanor; and on a parole absconder warrant.
Shaina Devarie, 22, was charged with thirddegree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; fourth- degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation; and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.
Deputies said investigators received information the Troy couple, Wilson and Devarie, was selling crack cocaine and heroin in the area. Investigators also learned Wilson had been wanted by New York State Parole as an absconder since January 18, 2018 and had been on the run from parole ever since, deputies said. Wilson is on parole for third- degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Investigators recently saw Wilson and Devarie on Watervliet Avenue in Albany and conducted a traffic stop. Deputies said the pair were in possession of 11 grams of crack cocaine, 10 grams of heroin, 10 glassine bags of pure fentanyl and 13 grams of marihuana. Investigators also seized $4,038 in U. S. currency from the couple, deputies said.
Wilson and Devarie were arraigned in the City Court and sent to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
