Donnelly named to D3hoops.com All-East Region First team

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » Senior guard Kelly Donnelly of the Skidmore College women’s basketball team adds a third consecutiv­e D3hoops.com All-East Region team honor to an impressive resume, as the organizati­on announced its teams on Tuesday, March 13.

Donnelly adds to her growing trophy case with her second consecutiv­e first team nod. The 201718 Liberty League Co-Player of the Year, Donnelly led the league in scoring at 19.3 points and 2.4 steals per game, finishing second in rebounds (9.1 rpg) and third in shooting percentage (.465). Nationally, Donnelly is fourth in the country with 227 field goals made and 17th in the nation with 540 total points. She’s scored in double figures in every game this season, finishing her career with 67 consecutiv­e double- digit performanc­es over three seasons. She’s tallied 13 double- doubles and has scored 20 or more points 13 times, including a season-high 30 points against RPI on Jan. 27.

Donnelly set the Skidmore alltime scoring record back on Jan. 26 against Union, and tallied her 1,000th career rebound in the Lib-

Liberty League Semifinal game against Vassar. Donnelly finishes a stellar Skidmore career with 1,823 career points and 1,032 rebounds (third alltime), becoming the first Skidmore player ever with at least 1,600 points and 1,000 rebounds.

Players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team are eligible for AllAmerica­n selection. The All-American team will be announced in the week following the Division III women’s semifinals. This is the 17th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year’s AllAmerica team will be the 21st annual All-American selections. The D3hoops. com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches’ associatio­ns, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.

Skidmore ( 18-10) won t he Liber t y League crown in 2017- 18 and earned its second- ever trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Thoroughbr­eds won both the regular season and tournament crown in the same season for the first time in program history.
