BRUNSWICK - Jean A. “Buddy” Larin, 88, crossed over to a better life on March 21, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was a veteran of World War II who joined the Navy when he was just 16 years old, serving on the USS Los Angeles CA-135. He served in the Pacific Theater. Jean was a master barber for many years and had many interests in life . He loved to golf, metal detect, fishing, bowling, and reading his favorite books by author, James Patterson. He also wrote a book and was an artist. Jean was a former member of the Mountain View Fire Department, the American Legion and the VFW. Jean was predecease­d by his parents, Alfred and Laudina (Messick) Larin. Jean is survived by the love of his life, Ronnie (Veronica St. John) Larin; his three children, Daniel (Luella) Larin, Linda ( Robert - predecease­d) Haner, and Bonita (Jeffrey Gregor) Bornt; a son-inlaw, Ronald Bornt; seven grandchild­ren, Randall (Kathleen) Haner, Matthew (Lisa) Haner, Shannon (Dave Hubbard) Carothers, Brandi (Joseph Bellmore) Bornt, Joshua Bornt, Nathan Larin and Rachel (Daniel) Kreski; 18 great grandchild­ren; several nephews and nieces; and by his lifelong friend, Fred (Rose - predecease­d) Toussaint, with whom he shared many great memories and jokes. He will be greatly missed by all. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home on Monday from 3 until 6:15 p.m. A memorial service will be held in his honor thereafter at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
