THACHER NATURE CENTER: Karst Geology Walk, 9 a.m. Much of the rock found in Thacher Park is limestone. Limestone can be dissolved through natural processes, giving rise to topography called karst. Features of karst topography include sinkholes and caves. On this walk you’ll see fine examples of karst and learn about a process shaping the park we see today. TROY RIVERFEST: Troy’s 15th Annual River Fest will take place on Saturday, June 16, from 9a.m. to 3p.m., situated in the scenic, historic downtown district. River Fest showcases carefully curated, locally crafted hand-made goods and local cuisine in an open-air bazaar. The streets will host family-friendly entertainm­ent and over 60 craft, art, and food vendors, in addition to Troy’s shops, restaurant­s and historic venues. For the first time ever, River Fest will take place alongside the Troy Waterfront Farmer’s Market, extending onto neighborin­g streets, creating many areas to peruse, explore and enjoy.
