TROY - Eileen E. Barr Balistreri, 79, of Burdett Avenue died Monday, June 11, 2018, at Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Philadelph­ia, PA, she was daughter of the late Mark Barr and Mary E. Anderson Barr and predecease­d by the love of her life, her husband, Francis ‘Fran’ J. Balistreri. She was raised in Kane, PA and resided most of her life in Troy and Raymertown and was a graduate of Kane High School. Eileen was employed, many years ago, as an x-ray technician, for many years was a homemaker and cared for a married couple for New York State. She was a member of the Brunswick Fire Company #1 Support Group, the Netter’s Fund Board of Directors, Raymertown Home Bureau and a communican­t of St. George’s Church in Raymertown and Our Lady of Victory in Troy. She enjoyed arts and crafts and created her own business Bal Craft, crafts, ceramics and sweatshirt­s. She was an amateur artist and loved painting landscapes. Eileen was know for her love of shopping and chocolates. Eileen enjoyed traveling with Fran and her family and spending time with her grandchild­ren. Survivors include a son, Mark J. (Lisa) Balistreri, Brunswick; a sister, Mary (Nick) Giambri, Boothwyne, PA; her grandchild­ren, Scott, Sofia, Kelly, Daniel, Lyndsay (David) and Madeline; nieces and nephews, Nick and Dee, Phil and Lynn, Robin and Jim, Anthony and Eileen, and Donald and Gerri; a brother-in-law, Anthony Polito and a daughterin-law, Carolyn Balistreri D’Agostino and her husband Tony D’Agostino. Also survived by many special friends, Pat and Frank, Chris and Al, Lorraine and Gerald, Karen and Joe, Virginia, Mary and lifelong friend, Jannie. She was predecease­d by a son, James G. Balistreri and a sister, Roberta Polito. The family wishes to thank the staff of the 6th floor at Samaritan Hospital as well as staff and all her loving friends at the Eddy Memorial. Relatives and friends may call at the Our Lady of Victory Church 55 North Lake Avenue Troy on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 9:30-10:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 AM by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Troy. In lieu of flowers contributi­ons may be made in memory of Eileen E.
