TROY - Dorothy R. “Dottie”, “Dot” Gunther Callahan, 92 of Frear Avenue, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her family and care givers in the comfort of her home on Sunday, June 10, 2018. Born in Lansingbur­gh, she was the daughter of the late Clifford A. and the late Ella A. Blanchard Gunther and the stepdaught­er of the late Margaret LeFleur Gunther. Dorothy was the beloved wife for nearly 53 years to Paul F. Callahan, who passed away on December 28, 1999. She was a graduate of Lansingbur­gh High School, Class of 1944. Mrs. Callahan was a homemaker who enjoyed every moment of being a dedicated and devoted wife, mother and grandmothe­r. She especially enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchild­ren traveling with them and taking them to local attraction­s. Mrs. Callahan had been active with her children’s activities with Cub Scout Pack #63, their schools PTA and with Youth for Christ at the former Brunswick Presbyteri­an Church ( presently Brunswick Church) where she was very involved with many Church activities and worshipped for many years. She had previously been a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church and First Presbyteri­an Church of Lansingbur­gh. Devoted mother of David P. Callahan of Albany, Patricia L. (John) Debboli of Brunswick and the late Michael P. Callahan, mother-in-law of Sharon Calano of Newport News, VA, cherished grandmothe­r of Michelle Payne, Shannon Callahan, Laura Debboli, Andrea Debboli and Leah Debboli, adored great grandmothe­r of Michael, Cassi, Brandon and Katlyn, also survived by 7 great-great grandchild­ren and by her feline companion, Tori. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Brunswick Church, 42 White Church Lane, Troy, NY 12180. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY 12180 on Thursday from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. Interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. Dorothy’s family would like to thank the many individual­s who helped care for her allowing her to remain in her home.
